Colorado Young Leaders
My work with Colorado Young Leaders has helped me intertwine my love for digital media with my passion for volunteering and helping my community. CYL is a non-profit in Colorado that helps youth become impactful leaders cultivating change. The non-profit takes on many activities throughout the year and I have been fortunate enough to work with them on some of their most significant projects. In the summer of 2022, I worked with CYL to host their annual 7-week-long event called the Think Like a Genius® Challenge. This challenge taught me the importance of sharing stories while balancing other important CYL information. In addition, the challenge allowed me to experiment with our Instagram stories on big event days.
After the challenge ended, I took on the social media marketing for Colorado Gives Day, a 24-hour online giving event that most non-profits introduce to followers a month in advance. I had many ideas for this campaign, some of my favorites being the Giving Tuesday and Fun Fact Friday posts that lead up to December 6th, 2022 (The official 2022 Colorado Gives Day).
Additionally, I work with CYL on sharing and posting content for their podcast Generation Collaboration. Similar to the Think Like a Genius® Challenge, I greatly enjoy creating and sharing the podcast promo, releases, snip its, and behind-the-scenes actions of each episode. Being a part of the marketing for this podcast has been my favorite at CYL as all of the episodes discuss important topics that are extremely relevant to youth in the Colorado community today. I am excited to continue working with the podcast in the meantime.
